Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today officially launched the Dandelion Empowerment Program, an initiative to enhance the capabilities of channel partners worldwide and equip them with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the latest ICT technologies. With this program, Huawei aims to develop a deeper understanding of the existing ICT knowledge and expertise across its channel partner ecosystem and provide customized training and development that will provide partners with better and more efficient ways to enhance capabilities and grow their businesses.

Last year, Huawei Enterprise established a global channel partner ecosystem in order to broaden its existing portfolio of partners while maximizing value for all stakeholders. To date Huawei has recruited more than 300 tier 1 partners including distributors and value added partners (VAPs), as well as 2,500 tier 2 resale partners worldwide. The various types of channel partners have diverse capabilities, capacities and expertise that require customized and adaptive training.

The Dandelion Empowerment Program seeks to understand the varied learning requirements and customized training needs for each individual channel partner. Through face-to-face engagements, the program helps to analyze the gaps between current and required capabilities and develop customized training programs to match the needs of each partner. This program will seek to strengthen existing training capabilities globally by continuously supporting channel partners to remain up-to-date of the latest ICT technologies, thereby enhancing their rate of growth.

The Dandelion Empowerment Program includes specialized certification training including; the Huawei Certified Network Associate (HCNA) and the Huawei Certified Network Professional (HCNP). The program also includes training in specialized technical fields as well as various types of product training, including enterprise networking, unified communications and collaboration (UC&C), and cloud computing & data center.

With a commitment to delivering customer centric solutions, Huawei implements individually designed training needs analysis reports, focusing on the specific local needs of each market and assigning senior training managers to deliver regional training programs locally.

As part of the pilot project, two Dandelion Empowerment Program training sessions were successfully held in Indonesia in late January 2013. Held at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) and Huawei’s Indonesia Representative Office, the sessions were attended by 29 trainees’ including; instructors from UMN, instructors from HALPs, and engineers representing channel partners. The training served as a knowledge building exercise and one in which the trainees improved their interpersonal and communication skills.  In addition to UMN, other Huawei partners in Indonesia also participated in the pilot project, including Certified Service Partners, Virtus Technology Indonesia (VTI), Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI), and Huawei Authorized Service Partner, Transdata Global Network (TGN).

Channel partners, Huawei Authorized Learning Partners (HALPs), and companies that are interested in collaborating with Huawei are invited to participate in the program.
