It seems obvious. The third largest mobile operator company in India, Vodafone-Essar, is currently leading the tally of MNP gainers.

As per the report, published by leading daily Indian Express, Vodafone has gained as many as 61789 subscribers via MNP route, followed by Aircel (28,088) and Idea Cellular (15220). Airtel, the leading telco in India is chosen only by 10412 subscribers and ranked 4th.

Among top losers, state own operator BSNL leads the tally. BSNL has lost 51,462 subscribers, followed by second largest telco, Rcom, who lost 48,089 subscribers.

Among telecom circles, Gujarat (30627) leads the tally of porting requests to Vodafone (10845), followed by Maharashtra (25000), where Idea Cellular (11502) is leading network provider.

These figures are based on first four days after 20 Jan national MNP launch and based on porting requests. It doesn’t necessarily represent the exact MNP scenario in India. Interestingly, Vodafone & Idea Cellular are leading MNP advertisers, while Airtel has stayed away from MNP advertisement till date.
