Telecomblogs ties up with NITIE to host Samiksha!

It gives me immense pleasure to announce media partnership, between Telecomblogs India & NITIE , a leading business school in India, for Samiksha– a series of Open Panel Discussion to be held at Auditorium, NITIE Campus on 17th Sep 2010. Telecomblogs has often endorsed close tie-ups between industry and leading technology & management institutes in India, which ultimately aims at exposing students to real world problems. Endorsing Samiksha-Sep10 edition fulfills my vision.

Samiksha:

Samiksha-a series of panel discussions on contemporary business themes was born out of a need for greater interaction between the industry and academic community. Successfully bringing together the experts from the industry and the students for the last ten years, it has provided a platform for the students and eminent corporate dignitaries to interact with each other, focusing on forces that would be instrumental in shaping the businesses in the future. Samiksha at the same time has been a step towards the integration of theory and practice through better communication with the industry.

September-2010 edition of Samiksha will hold panel discussion on ‘Indian Telecom- The Next Wave’. Having emerged as the fastest growing telecom market in the world, India currently has over 620 million telecom subscribers, with more than 120 million subscribers added in the last eight months. The teledensity too has shown significant increase to reach 52.74{af589cdba9d77786c8c861317dbad60bba1e2ebbf56e2ffab874a1b59fde9ce3} as on March 31, 2010. The success of the Indian Telecommunications sector has become the cynosure of the world and has made the country a truly attractive investment destination.

Telecom Next Phase – New Frontiers for growth

While the success so far was driven primarily by urban areas, the next phase of growth is expected to have a strong rural flavor. There will be a strong focus on connecting new markets as well as expanding current markets through non-voice services. This presents attractive opportunities for all stakeholders of the industry.

The panel, which comprises of eminent personalities from Telecom Corporate, will also discuss 3G auctions, Mobile Number Portability in India, Telecom manufacturing-present & future opportunities, along with potential of VAS in India.
